AGED is a diagnostic startup company that focuses on early detection methods of cancers caused by viruses. We are developing a diagnostic test to determine patterns of early signs of viral cancers using transcriptional analysis. Our business is partnering with primary care physicians and genetic counselors to help patients gain access to genomic technologies by using AGED services to determine early signs of tumorigenesis. We are currently hiring and looking for a computational geneticist to join our team to assist in research operations. Graduate students in bioinformatics, computational genetics or similar fields are welcome to apply. *Position is part time, paid and work can be done remotely.* We are located in DC, but are willing to hire the right candidates outside of the area. This fall we are dedicated to expanding research and the major responsibilities of new hires are as follows: 1. The primary purpose of the computational geneticist is to analyze genomic data that is publicly available online, such as, but not limited to finding gene expression profiles for specific gene clusters that are related to the development of tumorigenesis. The specifics of oligonucleotide sequences to target and analyze will be directed to the Consultant as needed by AGED. 2. Consultant is allowed to use any free tools available to them that will assist in research needs. If a tool is necessary to identify gene expression profiles that requires purchasing, then Consultant must submit a written statement to AGED describing why tool is necessary. If a free tool is available, then that platform must be used first before purchasing excess computational platforms. 3. Services may be performed by Consultant remotely. 4. The Consultant must write up detailed steps of research, such as, but not limited to, finding gene sequences, analyzing transcriptomic data and creating final output. All steps must be recorded in a manner that another Consultant can follow and replicate results. Consultant shall use research notebooks that are solely dedicated to the Services performed for AGED. 5. As requested from time to time by AGED, Consultant shall create written documents of findings and figures as needed, in order to summarize and submit all findings to AGED. 6. Consultant is welcome to attend conferences, workshops, pitch events with other members of AGED if interested, but not a necessity for this role. We are dedicated to growing a strong team of diverse individuals with various backgrounds. If you have an interest in becoming a part of our team, please send a message and your CV to the founder Rachel Zayas at rzayas791 at gmail.com We look forward to hearing from you, -Rachel Zayas -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
